'Cartoons speak more than a thousand words'
"The speciality about 'Bangalore in Cartoons' exhibition is that it is about my personal experience in Bangalore. These cartoons speak more than a thousand words," said the noted cartoonist, V.R.C. Shekhar at the inauguration of 'Bangalore in Cartoons', an exhibition of his works at the Indian Cartoon Gallery on MG Road.
Dr Jaimala, President, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, while inaugurating the cartoon exhibition said, "Cartooning is a difficult art and Mr Shekhar has mastered it well. 'Bangalore in Cartoons' is the realty of Bangalore which he has portrayed very beautifully." Dr Jaimala also commended the efforts of Indian Institute of Cartoonists (IIC) for promoting the art of cartooning by displaying works of prominent as well as budding cartoonists.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr V Narendra, Managing Trustee of Indian Institute of Cartoonists said, "IIC is proud to announce that 'Bangalore in cartoons' is the 30th cartoon exhibition at the Indian Cartoon Gallery. Mr Shekhar is a very talented cartoonist, who has been doing cartooning since 40 years. His works will be an inspiration for many budding cartoonists."
About Shekhar: V.R.C. Shekhar is a well known cartoonist of Karnataka and has been contributing his cartoons to almost all the Kannada Dailies, Weeklies and Monthlies. According to him "Cartooning is a good and an easy media in reaching the common man."
