KRIYA YOGA
A TOOL FOR HAPPINESS
Kriya Yoga is the science of breath consciousness. It not only brings in physical and mental fitness, but also goes beyond to provide quick spiritual progress.
Most of us live with a conception of God as omnipotent, omnipresent and almighty, but few are searching for God within ourselves. More so, we do not feel the living presence of God within us throughout our daily chores and duties. Kriya Yoga can make us feel the living presence of God through breath-control and meditation. Any work, kri is done by ya, the indwelling soul. The modern revival of this technique has brought ancient secret teachings within the reach of householders and families who are searching for lasting peace and happiness, and who are hungry to know God. This form of meditation can be added to enhance one's religious and spiritual practice. Kriya Yoga is a scientific technique that allows the seeker to feel the presence of God.
Kriya Yoga is considered a very ancient and effective science and an age old tradition that has been practiced by seers, saints, and sages since time immemorial. In Indian mythology, it is mentioned that even Rama and Krishna practiced and taught this meditation technique. It was explained by the rishis in the Upanishads, by sage Vasistha in Yoga Vasistha and Maharshi Patanjali in Yoga Sutra. Apparently lost in the increasing spiritual decline of later epochs, these very same teachings were revived by the timeless Mahavatar Babaji Maharaj in 1861 who named the technique "Kriya Yoga" and initiated Lahiri Mahasaya into it. Lahiri Mahasaya passed on the technique to Swami Sri Yukteshwar, whose great disciple Paramahansa Yogananda spread the message of Kriya Yoga in East and West. His famous book "Autobiography of a Yogi" is one of the all time best-sellers. Another famous disciple of Swami Sri Yukteshwar was Paramahamsa Hariharananda, one of the greatest Kriya Yoga masters and a fully God-realized saint, had attained the pulseless, breathless state of meditation known as nirvikalpa samadhi -- the highest attainment of a dedicated Yogi. His chief disciple, Paramahamsa Prajnanananda, is the current spiritual head of Kriya Yoga institute.

Paramahamsa Prajnanananda teaches only one lesson: the lesson of love. The power of his teachings lies in their simplicity and direct relevance to our lives. Through not only the study of the scriptures, and the practice of meditation, but through every action and every breath, he urges us to realize that we are all divine and to achieve that blissful state of divine love and contentment, through basic self-discipline and the practice of simple yogic principles. He himself sets an example to one and all on how to realize the connection between ourselves and the Divine; how to surrender and unfold our infinite potential to its fullest, in order to become or be anything we wish, without losing sight of the highest goal in life, thus encouraging his disciples to follow his exemplary life and his teachings with enthusiasm and faith. His loving guidance and deep compassion have won him the devotion and faith of countless disciples around the world whose lives he has transformed.
