Kannada film CDs for Rs 28

A film CD for Rs 28 and a DVD for Rs 34, with print quality on par with the best? Moser Baer, a multinational company, has come up with this exciting offer for film buffs. The catch is, these CDs will be restricted only to Kannada films and they will be released in the market three years after the films are released. The 3-year gap is to protect the film distributors, as otherwise they will incur a heavy loss if these cheap priced CDs flood the market early, according to Moser Baer head, Harish Dayani.

The company has initially bought rights for 101 Kannada films, CDs of which are available in the market. The print quality of these discs will be on par with Hollywood films. These CDs will also not be available for viewing in video parlours. A company official said the move would greatly help to curb video piracy in Kannada films.
