Platinum Jubilee Project at Sevabharathi School

The Rotary Club of Bangalore is one of the oldest and largest Rotary Clubs in India, and part of the globally networked Rotary International, which is present in over 200 countries comprising over 32000 clubs across the planet. In recognition of its services and contribution to the Community over seven decades, and in commemoration of much awaited auspicious historic event, Rotary International President Elect Rtn. Ray Klinginsmith launched the PLATINUM JUBILEE BLOCK at Seva Bharathi School at Nagadevana Halli at a cost of Rs.4 Crore. The school has 10 additional class rooms with multi utility hall. The Rotary Club provides scholarship to more than 600 students, majority of the students are underprivileged children. A PLATINUM CLUB Book - a compendium of how civil society initiatives have helped shape the city of Bangalore for the last seventy five years - was released on the occasion. It documents the remarkable contributions of the club and its illustrious members. The much awaited Platinum project took shape with a few years of methodical planning, effort and resource mobilization which will mark the beginning of yet another historic landmark for Rotary Club of Bangalore.
Speaking on the occasion Past Rotary International Director, Rtn. Panduranga Shetty said "This is a very special occasion, I am sure all Rotarians will be proud and happy to witness this project coming to reality and we are honored that R I President Elect is here with us to unveil the Platinum Jubilee Block at Seva Bharathi." He further added "we are deeply touched by the initiation of IBM who endorsed its corporate support in setting KIDSMART Computer facility, and its representation today by Mr. Robert Parker."
Chartered in the year 1934, the Rotary Club of Bangalore, celebrating its Platinum Jubilee year, complementing a long history of public service and laudable contributions to society and to the community, takes its thrust forward to seal Corporate-NGO relationship with two more Primary schools at Hosakote in association with two German Corporates - Reassign and WILLPUETZ investing about Rs.22 lakhs.
We want the entire India to be polio free country in three years with the focus on state like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh Mr. Shetty Said.
Education, health and providing clean drinking water will remain our min focus in the coming years said Mr. Ramkumar Sesahu, Secretary.
