Unique new movie launched in theaters

Blind man in real life plays hero

'Shadow - the dark side of truth' is the much talked about movie launched in theatres on August 21, 2009. This action thriller lead role is played by Naseer Khan, a blind man whose role is that of a person with normal vision.
Shadow's star cast has Naseer Khan, Milind Soman, Sonali Kulkarni, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Samir Aftab and others and is written and produced by Naseer Khan and Shamshad Alam. Directed by Rohit Nayyar, the music is by Anand Raj Anand. The most unique thing about this movie is its lead role - played by Naseer Khan, a real-life businessman who is blind, but performs the role of a person whose vision is normal. Although Naseer Khan does not have any prior acting experience, he has wowed his co-stars with his ability to complete his shots in a single take.
According to Naseer Khan "My main aim with this movie is to show how just about anyone can overcome a handicap and be a star. If I can do whatever I did in the movie, normal healthy people should never lose hope in life"
In 'Shadow - the dark side of truth', Naseer Khan performs stunts and dances quite flawlessly. Some of his more dangerous death-defying stunts involve fighting with tigers, jumping off burning cars, racing a jet-ski, diving, stunts on a motorbike and even jumping off the 38th floor of a building. He plays a criminal as well as a car mechanic - a tricky double role.
Written by Naseer, the plot revolves around a series of mysterious murders that police officer Sanjana, is trying to solve. While it is known that Arjun Sherawat is the criminal, nobody knows who it is. Sheetal, a press reporter on a news channel gets some information about the case. Her friend, Rahul who is a reporter on a rival news channel is also interested in the case.
As you watch the movie with its twists and turns, you will probably wonder whether Rahul is actually Arjun Sherawat. In the meantime, the murders continue, and Sheetal supposedly shoots the murderer in a planned encounter, with the help of the police. While everyone assumes that the case is closed, the murderer is back, threatening to kidnap a prominent builder, shocking everyone. To find out how Sheetal gets her information, why Arjun Sherawat is on a killing spree, what is the mystery behind Rahul and whether Sanjana indeed solves her case, head over to the theater and watch Shadow.
Blind man in real life plays heroMulti-talented Naseer Khan is engaging in his double role and the highlight of the movie - and you might find it hard to guess that he is actually blind. Hrishita Bhatt sizzles in her role as Sheetal while Sonali Kulkarni gives an outstanding performance as usual. The dashing Milind Soman is suave in his role as Rahul. The music launch of the movie was a huge success with catchy numbers by Anand Raj Anand.
When Naseer Khan, a blind businessman from Kanpur decided he wanted to act in the movies, he just went ahead and wrote and produced "Shadow - The Dark Side Of Truth', a Hindi action thriller movie in which he plays the hero in a double role. The movie released on August 21, 2009.

36 year old Naseer Khan who co-stars with Sonali Kulkarni, Hrishitaa Bhatt, Milind Soman, Samir Aftab and others, is the real hero of Shadow even though he's nothing like the Bollywood prototype of a hero, unless you count the name 'Khan'. No six-pack, no handsome good looks and no airs. Naseer is a businessman by profession who has several talents, apart from his business acumen. He comes from a family of real estate agents and leather industrialists, proficient in maintaining electronic equipment - and the only blind man to have passed all four certifications of Microsoft.
Amazingly, Naseer Khan has not allowed his visual disability to stop him from doing all the things that someone with normal vision can do. He can swim, ride a bike, drive a car and play several musical instruments.
In spite of no training or experience as an actor, Naseer has confidently written himself a role that would be quite daunting even for an experienced actor with normal vision - that of a gunman with dangerous stunts. But Naseer Khan is cool. When you see 'Shadow' you would hardly guess that the hero was blind, so convincing is his performance in his roles - both as Arjun Sherawat the criminal and Raju, the chatterbox car mechanic. Incidentally, most of his scenes had no retakes!
