IIC celebrates 107th birth anniversary

"Don't spare me Shankar' - cartoon exhibition inaugurated
 Over 90 works of Late Shri K. Shankar Pillai, the father of political cartooning will be on display in a 25- day long cartoon exhibition 'Don't spare me Shankar'.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr Sharad Dravid and Mrs Pushpa Dravid, parents of cricketer, Rahul Dravid, at the Indian cartoon gallery. While inaugurating the exhibition the senior Dravids said "Indian Institute of Cartoonists is one of its kind in India, which focuses on encouraging young talent."
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ashok Kheny, Managing Director, NICE Ltd. and Hony Chairperson of IIC said, "I am extremely happy to be a part of IIC that is enhancing the dying art of cartooning by encouraging talent."

While speaking about Late Shri Shankar, he says "Late Shri K. Shankar Pillai has left a rich and memorable history of cartooning in India for the future generation. This exhibition is organized to commemorate 107th Birthday of Shri Pillai, which falls on 31st July, 2009".
