When CM visited Kanteerava Studio on the occasion of ETV reality show "EDE TUMBI HADUVENU". Mr. Girish Mattanna, Chairman Kanteerava Stadium invited CM and submitted memorandum to the honorable chief Minster BS Yeddyurappa. In a quick response, the CM granted on the spot a sum of Rs.60/- lakh for the up-gradation and minor repairs and further development of Kanteerava Studio which includes tarring of roads within the studio, fencing of walls all over, improvisation of Police station set, centre set, middle class house set up, Govt office set, up gradation of dining rooms, toilets facilities. The upgradation will take place in two phase, and also include fencing of Dr. Raj Memorial.
Since two year Kanteerava Studio has been raking in a very meager profit, said Girish, who aims to transform it into a studio equal to the stature of Ramoji Rao Studio in Hyderabad. Plans are afoot in the second phase to make the studio into a one stop solution with four more floors for shooting in which the film maker will get good lightings. Canara Bank has been approached for funding, he revealed. More infrastructure building in the form of hi-tech technology with Animation , Graphics Visual effects, etc are also in the offing.
In time, the Kanteerava Studio will be equipped to meet A to Z requirements, right from Muhurtha, shooting, production and post production under one production. The actors will also have privacy to be shot under the studio. The benefits are multi fold - it is cost effective, no traffic nuisance, time saving.
There is also separate grievance cell for actors, present and veterans. Recently, the studio authorities handed over Rs.1 lakh cheque to a senior veteran actor Saliyan who was suffering from cancer since last few years & was in need of help.
