Maiya's Coffee Counter now open on Mondays too

Maiya's the famous and popular joint for political parties, real estate agents, residents associations and families, at 4th Block near police station is abuzz with the hot flavour of coffee and news, views and juice! Mornings are packed with family crowds making a beeline for the hotel's buffet breakfast. A wide variety of south and north Indian foods are served in three floors that are well maintained.
In the mornings, you can spot politicians of all hues and colors at the restaurant in their jogging tracks and suits, and the same people return in the evenings in their traditional white attire. Likewise, you see a lot of opinion makers and residential association representatives at the hotel heatedly discussing the political situation and the forthcoming BBMP elections.
The only drawback is the two way parking on the road, which has not been converted into one way parking, despite repeated requests to the Traffic police.
Maiya's Coffee CounterMaiya's promoter Sudharshan Maiya said that he has no problem if parking is made one-side, and countered that the issue should be placed before the residents in the locality many of whom have two cars in a single household.
On pricing which some people say is on the higher side, he pointed out that the pricing is actually on par with the Darshinis, and whatever difference was there was on account of the ambience, service, facilities, quality and hygiene offered. "If you take all this into account, our prices are certainly reasonable," he replied with a smile.

According to the hotel sources, 70 to 80 % customers are repeat customers, which include scholars, writers, politicians, film artists, senior citizens, real estate and IT professionals, and of late, college boys and girls.
One of the sore things with the hotel's visitors was that it was closed on Mondays, but at the behest of former Corporator N. Nagaraju who in turn was requested by the locals to mediate, Maiya's Coffee Counter will now be open on Mondays also. Catch the all-in-one crowds at Maiya's who whip up a fine brew of all and sundry goings on in Jayanagar over a sip of coffee….
