'Don't spare me Shankar'

Shankar's 100 best cartoons

Indian Institute of Cartoonists is organising 'Shankar's Cartoon Exhibition' named 'Don't spare me Shankar' on 1st August 2009 at 6 PM at the cartoon gallery to commemorate 107th birthday of Late Sri.K. Shankar Pillai, which falls on 31st July 2009.

Sri. Shankar, a pioneer of Indian Cartooning was a legendary figure in the field.  Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru an ardent admirer of Shankar's cartoons, used to tell him 'Don't spare me Shankar'.  Shankar's 100 best cartoons on Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru are on display at the gallery.

The exhibition will be open to public from 1st August to 25th August 2009 from 10.00AM to 6.00PM. Dr Veerappa Moily, Union Law Minister and Mr. Ashok Kheny, Hon. Chairman, IIC., M.D, NICE Limited will inaugurate. Venue: Indian Cartoon Gallery, No.1, Midford House, Midford Garden, Off M.G. Road, near Big Kids Kemp, Bangalore.
