Governor condoles the death of Dr.Gangubai Hangal

Karnataka Governor Sri H.R. Bharadwaj has condoled the death of Dr. Gangubai Hangal.
In his message he has said, "Karnataka has lost a precious jewel in the sad demise of the empress of Hindustani Music, Smt. Gangubai Hangal. 
In her musical career spanning more than eight decades, she has enthralled the connoisseurs of music all over the globe.  Her neat and precise rendering of difficult ragas in her full-throat has earned her millions of fans.  Though she was a genius in her own right,  she had no airs of superiority and she led a very simple life.  She lives permanently in the hearts of millions of music lovers for ever. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
I pray to God to bestow enough strength to the members of her family to bear this great loss".
