Rotary Bangalore Orchards Installs New Governor

The Office Bearers of the Rotary Bangalore Orchards for the year 2009-10 was announced by District Governor S.  Nagendra on 13th July,2009. On the said occasion Past President and Executive Trustee of Rotary Orchards, Mr. Madhukar A. Shah were honoured. Mr. Harish Shenoy, newly elected President of Rotary Bangalore Orchards announced the launching of the following projects for the year 2009-10
1. Rs.1,00,000/-  worth uniforms to the school students by Mr. M N Dwaraknath to the children  living in Slums and attending School and to the children of BGML school, K.G.F.
 i)  Letter of commitment for Rs. 35,000/- (for about 100 students) of Tamil Aided
 Primary School, Yeshwanthpur. Beneficiary Head Mistress Ms. Maheshwari.
 ii) Letter of commitment for Rs. 65,000/- (for about 200 students) ofBGML School   KGF School, Kolar.
2. Rs.15,000/-  by Rtn.Rajanna Srinivasan towards Stitching Charges of Uniforms.
3. Rs.22,000/- worth note books to our adopted Government PU College Malleshwaram by  Rtn.Iqubal Ahmed & Ann.Maimuna beneficiary Mr. Shafi.
 4. Rs.10,000/- by Rtn. Raghu to Dharithri Foundation towards solar lighting in Dharithree Rotary School DabusPet, Nelamngala Taluk.
5. Rs.10,000/- by Rtn. Harish Shenoy & Rs.10,000/- by his nephew Mr. Pradeep Shenoy (U.S.A )  to Dharithri foundation.
6. Rs.5,000/- by Rtn.Rama Mohan Hegde towards Hearing Aid to  Dr.Chandrashekar Institute to be collected by Rtn. M.S.Venkatesh

Mr. S. Nagendra in his speech gave  brief account of achievements of Rotary International for the past 105 years and said Rotary is the only organisation which has been continuously serving humanity for more than 100 years. Bill Gates, CEO of Microsoft has donated millions of dollars to Rotary Foundation  towards eradication of Polio which is the pet project of Rotary. Mr. S. Nagendra reminded the Rotarians of their duties towards Society particularly towards  providing better living conditions to people belonging  to lower strata of the Society. Mr. Harish Shenoy in his acceptance speech informed the audience that in the past few years Rotary Orchards Bangalore has involved itself in community service activities particularly in providing school building ,providing residential home to to the Special children in association with Dharithree and in the filed of education,health and eradication of hunger.
