JCCA Open Auditorium to be Upgraded

Continuing his interaction with people and officials, Jayananagar MLA, BN Vijayakumr  announced that the JCCA open auditorium in 4th Block, Jayanagar would be upgraded, at a meeting held earlier this week. Former Corporators, CK Ramamurthy, N. Nagaraju, SK Natraj, B. Somashekar, Raghavendra Prasad, EE, BBMP, Manjunath, AEE, BESCOM, Nagaraj, EE, BWSSB, Dodde Kende Gowda, officer from Agricultural Department and  Gopal, Circle Inspector of Police Jayanagar, took part in the Janaspandana programme.
Grievances expressed at the meeting:
Bhaskar Murthy, President of Federation of Residents Association: Mr. Praveen Sood, Joint Commissioner, Traffic Police is wrong in saying the footpath problem is a social menace and not just a Departmental problem. The problem is very much that of the Department. Also, the department should involve the Residents Welfare Associations in issues of tarring the roads. The authorities should also look into leakage of property tax by some residents. In some houses, there are six families staying together and have 6 Bescom meters. How was the permission given for so many meters?
JCCA Open Auditorium to be UpgradedKesha Kumar, Secretary, Federation of Residents Welfare Assn: Upgrade the existing JCCA Open Auditorium into a covered auditorium and permit meetings of residents associations, cultural bodies, public functions to be held  there either free of cost or at a nominal charge.
Allow one side parking near the Maiya Hotel near 4th Block police station.
Commended the traffic police for clearing old vehicles parked on 10th Main which was obstructing traffic.
Telephone numbers and names of all the concerned government officials should be placed in all the important places.
The 7th Main park to be maintained properly.
Drainage maintenance is very poor near National College, leakage of drainage on 9th Main adjacent to JCCA.
Footpath encroachment and traffic problems near 12th Main, 23rd Cross, 4th 'T' Block near Tejeswini School.
Power shutdowns not as per schedule.
Property Tax payment should be extended form its deadline of July
Basement should be used only for parking purpose. Cosmopolitan Club members should park their cars inside the club.
Fuse cut outs are not placed to all the residents by the BESCOM
Schools to follow the central school system so as to avoid power cuts during summer.
Many water pipes and sewage pies are leaking and causing health hazard.
Not many people are using the system of removing dustbins and door to door  collection of garbage.
Bus service to 8th Block is not frequent
No action taken on unauthorized parking of vehicles at 6th Block by the auto consultants. Water supply should be as per fixed time schedule.

Bus shelter for 12th Main, 'T' Block long pending grievance since 7 years
Flooding of rainwater in the house located near 21st 'B' Cross, 6th Block whenever it rains - for the past eight years. Officials have given compensation, but we want a solution, not compensation.
Restrict vehicles entering 11th Main, Adiga's junction towards 12th Main to avoid heavy traffic flow and make them enter from the Cool Joint via Sub-Registrar office if at all they want to enter 12th Main.
Road divider on Elephant Rock road continues till South End road and needs to be reduced in height. A divider can be alternately put near GK Vale 27th Cross.
Garbage debris near Balaji temple at JP Nagar to be cleared.
Too many unwanted street lights at JP Nagar.
25% Concession for senior citizen should be given even in Volvo buses like in regular BMTC busses
Public toilet near Swimming Pool.
Mahadeva Park has not been maintained properly

Official response to the grievances:
Raghavendra Prasad, EE, BBMP said on the issue of footpaths that a pilot project near Vijaya Junior College had been done and was well appreciated, it would be replicated in other areas of Jayanagar soon, once a special budgetary allocation was made for the same.
Manjunath, AEE, BESCOM, said Bescom has identified right place to shift more than 50 transformers which are obstructing the pedestrians to walk on the foot path.
Nagaraj, EE, BWSSB, said necessary action would be taken at the earliest to rectify all the leakages and sewerage.
Dodde Kinde Gowda, Agricultural Department, said Mahadeva Park maintenance has been outsourced to Mantri Housing for maintenance for over year.
Summing up, BN Vijaykumar, MLA, Jayanagar said details on the upcoming mega project of Shopping Complex at old vegetable market would be given in the next meeting. The complex would be built at a cost of Rs 99 cr with 8 floor in which 4 floors will be allocated for parking, while retaining Puttanna Kanagal Theatre with mini theaters. In regard to sewage leakage and sanitary system, plans to provide an allocation of Rs 65 crore was in the offing. At LIC colony, Byresandra,  over 150 manholes was cleared and the same will be done in other places too. At 3rd Block, 22nd Cross Cosmopolitan Club 16th Main road will be widened via 11th Main by covering 3 kms, and the JCCA will be renovated with covered shelter.
