At Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled

KEONICS Computer Training launched

Samarthanam TrustSamarthanam Trust for the Disabled has been working since 1997 for the empowerment of the disabled and deprived people in India. The Trust is working to keep them in pace with the rest of the society by providing them with quality education, accommodation, nutritious food, vocational training, placement based rehabilitation and facilitate them to live self sustainable.
Tech Vision, an initiative of Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled offers a short term for (about four months) computer training programme for the people with disabilities. KEONICS, Government of Karnataka as the partner with Samarthanam has approved the course and start issuing certificates of merit for the successful candidates.  The course is open to all PUC/Diploma/Degree holders with disabilities across Karnataka. Free lodging and boarding are provided for candidates who are not from Bangalore. Deserving candidates will also be provided with job opportunities. The duration of the course is for four months. The objective of this programme is to enable persons with disabilities their technical and social skills to build self confidence and to ensure a life with dignity.
The first ever batch of this course had concluded last month and learners were awarded their certificates of merit on 26th June 2009 in a simple function at Samarthanam Trust Campus. Prominent personalities from KEONICS were present at the function to congratulate the students with disabilities The Chairman of KEONICS Mr. Yanga Reddy visited Tech-vision first and participated in the valediction as the chief guest. He in his key note address   the Chairman appreciated the program and the work of Samarthanam He promised all possible help to take it forward. The Founder Managing Trustee Mr. Mahantesh G.K presided over the function. Mr. Bundu (General Manager - HR & IT KEONICS), Mr. Ramakrishna (KEONICS), Mrs. Vasanthi (Samarthanam), Mr. Swamy (Samarthanam) , Mr. Ram Rao (Samarthanam) also participated and spoke on the occasion   . Mr. Waseem Muhammad delivered the welcome speech and Mr. Shiju Nair gave the vote of thanks. Mr. Yanga Reddy Chairman of KEONICS and other guests on the dais handed over the certificates to the successful students. The function was enriched by the sharing of experiences by the students and a musical concert by Mr.Wasim.
