License fee of bars/restaurants hiked

Consequent to ban on sale of arrack in the State, business and profit margins of retail shops, and Bars and Restaurants has increased considerably in the Town Municipal, Town Panchayat and Rural areas.  In this background the State Government has proposed to revise the license fee of retail shops (CL-2) and  Bar and Restaurants (CL-9) for the year 2009-10 in the above areas and a draft Notification has been published in the Karnataka Gazette.  On account of this, the license fee of retail shops (CL-2) would be Rs.3.00 lakhs and Rs.3.20 lakhs for Bar and Restaurants (CL-9) in the above areas for 2009-10, according to an official release.
