A Philanthropist-Cum Educationist Par Excellence

Is Geetha Ramanujam  a philanthropist or a progressive promoter of education?  The answer is both. After serving for three and a half decade as professor and as Principal at National College Jayanagar, She has established G.R. educational institutionsto serve the cause of education away from the crowded and polluted atmosphere  in a serene six acres of land, ideal for education with team of expert  and experienced faculty  in B.M.kaval village on Kanakapura -Kumbalgodu road, 11 kms. from J.P.Nagar donating all her property for the noble cause.
She is acclaimed as an established educationist, an able administrator, noted playwright and director, acclaimed freelance journalist in both Kannada and English, successful counselor. Being a noted public speaker, she is totally dedicated in giving Bhagavad-Gita discourses in day- to-day life. A Post- graduate in English she is a very good communicator, as a post-graduate in philosophy, inculcates basic thinking among men, as a science graduate, she promotes scientific temper successfully among youth. As promoter of Environmental awareness she has received gold medal for her PhD thesis on ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AND AHIMSA.
She is a promoter of value based culture through education, theatre and other forms of art  for which she is awarded various recognitions, to mention  a few - Vidya Dharini Title for her contribution to education, DVG award for Literary contribution, Artist of the year by Bangalore Gayana Samaja on the occasion of Centenary year for the contribution of bringing out the living philosophy of great composers like Purandara Dasa, Santa Tyagaraja, Muttu Swamy  Dikshitar, Shama Shastry, Madhvacharya, UNESCO recognition for education through theatre ,State- Nataka Academy recognition as Play Wright and Direction, for promoting social plays, educative and children theater etc.

Her multifaceted personality has drawn invitations from Singapore Kannada sangha to give lectures on theater. She has visited London Bharatya Vidhya Bhavan to deliver lectures on culture, music and Heritage, and presented paper on Buddhism and Science at the North-West University of California U.S.A.
She has also penned the popular Dharma Jyoti for 45 days in Kannada Prabha commenting on spirituality, apart from being a prolific and regular contributor to the print media in English and Kannada.
As philanthropist, educationist, and social thinker, Dr Geetha Ramanujam believes she has still miles to go…. Her present passion is promoting the Gurukula model of education.
