Sir,
General Elections - 2009 - BBMP Area.

We wish to congratulate Sri Vidyashankar, Chief Election Officer, for an excellent job in conducting the Lok Sabha elections smoothly. We would also like to make the following suggestions:

1)Appoint a Full-Time Election Officer in each Assembly Constituency so that he can devote full time for Voter Registration, addition/deletion, EPIC Cards etc.

 2) We have found that there is a need to cleanse the present Electoral Rolls.
 3) To conduct EPIC campaigns and Voter Registration campaign in each ward office including on Sundays.
 4)Try to conduct election on a Sunday so that private sector employees and unorganised sector employees do not lose the opportunity of exercising the franchise and also compensating their work.
 5)Please make available the electoral rolls in each ward office so that citizens would be able to ensure their names are included in the rolls.

6) Conduct ADALATS in each Assembly Constituency to understand the grievances of the electorates, which will ensure higher percentage of voting.
 7)Instead of deputing all the G ovt/Semi Govt/ Public Utility Department officials, recruit on contract basis and train retired officials,   NGOs, Unemployed Graduates, which will not hamper the administrative machineries, when they are deputed on official duties.
