Mukesh Ambani adds buzz to IIMB convocation

The prestigious and dream destination of many management aspiring students of India IIMB, rose to roll out 419 students in various Management disciplines, and also adorning gold medals for 6 outstanding meritorious students, in a orderly Convocation chaired by Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Justice M.N. Venkatachalaiah, Ex CJ, Supreme Court of India and chairman NHRC.

Shri Pankaj Chandra Director IIMB,in his annual report listing out the Gold Lettered features of the Institute informed that IIMB  has 84 full time & 21visiting Faculty & cheered the feature aspirants "that despite global recessionary trends, all our students have been placed in diverse private and PS companies."

He stated that the present trend of top investment banking and advisory firms was against Finance and Banking, while consulting remained the largest recruiters from IIMB accounting for 50% of the placements. In order to encourage alternative carrier choices, IIMB allows students to defer placements by two years.

The news was added with one more welcoming announcement, that the students intake will be increased from 270 students to 350 students with a definite plan to 500 by 2012, of course with a slight increase of fees by Rs 25000/for the current year and by Rs 75000/ from 2010.11.

Justice (rtd ) Sh M.N. Venkatachaliah said that India is weakened by its macro economics instability in government and said we had one of the highest deficits in the world at 127th place, while in human development index, we were beyond Cuba and even Congo.
