Addressing his supporters, Ananth Kumar said India will fulfill its destiny as a fully developed nation only if the BJP comes to power and the Congress had been looting and fooling the people. He recalled that when Atalji was PM, the price of rice was Rs.18/- a kg, while it is Rs 40/- today. The party's manifesto provided for supply of rice at Rs.2/- and 35 kg a month, which no government had thought of. During the UPA government within the span of 6 months lakhs of people had lost their jobs, he pointed out.
Ananth Kumar also congratulated BN Vijaykumar for his outstanding work done in 9 months, which had not been done in the past 50 years
