SURYA STEEL PIPES CAMPAIGN FOR QUALITY PIPES

This is being done through press conferences and shop keeper meets in more than 100 Cities all over India to educate the dealers and consumers on the disadvantages of using spurious Pipes.
The pipe industry is beset with the serious problem of large scale availability of spurious pipes  all over the country. These spurious pipes produced in the country with half the quantity of Standard Zinc coating (BIS) on Pipes have substantially reduced life. These poor quality Pipes are produced from under gauge patra coils, instead of tested H.R. coils from main producers like SAIL, ESSAR and others. The spurious pipes do not guarantee the prescribed thickness. Against an average life of thirty years in buildings for good quality pipes from Companies like Surya, the life of spurious pipes is hardly three years leading to repeated maintenance and replacement costs. The dealers, retailers and consumers are advised to buy only from leading pipe manufacturers like Surya. These Surya pipes are very popular in the market and are sold in the brand name of Prakash Surya.
The sporadic check by BIS has not been able to root out these shady outfits. Nearly 30% of the market consists of such spurious products. The government on its part should also step up the inspections and root out the menace by deterrent punishments.
