"BASE" for Competitive exams

Anytime, anywhere 'test' platform for students

BASE, the city based premier educational training organization providing quality training for IIT-JEE, AIEEE, AIPMT, CET and COMEDK, has tied up as the strategic content partner for India's first interactive and fully integrated mobile learning and assessment tool mPlg™. mPlg™ the mobile phone based testing platform created by Ipomo Communications India Private Limited, Bangalore (www.ipomo.in) delivers and renders question papers of various competitive exams from best institutes efficiently. The content provision will start off with IIT-JEE-09 and CET- 09.
"This partnership will provide students opting for mPlg™ the opportunity to benefit from the expertise BASE has in training students to face national level competitive examinations for nearly two decades," said Dr. H.S. Nagaraja, Director and founder of BASE.
"The partnership will allow students subscribing to mPlg™ to have access to the innovative and exhaustive course material compiled by BASE. This cost-efficient learning tool will help students to fine-tune their skills and will help them prepare better for competitive exams in state and national levels," he said. BASE has 140 faculties, 11 centres in operation, provides academic support to 18 institutes in Karnataka.
Nowadays the mobile is more than a phone and it has lot of advantages, one could get information handy even while traveling said Mr. Vallish N. Herur, Director, BASE.
The testing system allows students to access the best question papers from the best institutes at one place along with allowing students to practice or mock anytime, anywhere. Through this system, students can also network with the expert group whenever and wherever, can benchmark his/her skill level and get guidance on areas of improvement. With mPlg™ students can practice tests, network with experts, refresh topics, track their progress on their mobile phone.
Inbuilt algorithms of mPlg™ allow institutions to efficiently track their students progress. It also facilitates paper-less internal assessments and real time results will be delivered to the Institute server. With no requirement for smart phones or GPRS connection, mPlg™ is designed to make the mobile phone a computing device. mPlg™ works on any device which has a simple PC connectivity (Low end devices). Through the platform, institutions can reach a large number of rural/semi-urban students with no major additional investment.
With no network charges to worry about, mPlg™ is a cost efficient 'anytime, anywhere' platform for students and institutes. With mPlg™ students, especially those hailing from rural backgrounds, can now have access to best content right in his/her palm. They will not have the need to travel to Mock test centers.
"Efficient and secured inbuilt encryption algorithms prevent unauthorized viewing of content. A student can access only to his/her registered course/subjects. We have conducted pilot-runs in few colleges and institutes in Bangalore in the past 2 months. The pilot run was conducted in order to test the feasibility of mPlg and the feasibility of automating the process of uploading the results for better tracking and analysis by institutes. A next generation revolutionary platform, Plg indicates to practice, learn and Grade, and is the first of its kind in the world learning through mobile," said Mr Hariprakash Shanbhog, Founder & Managing Director, Ipomo Communications India Private Limited.
A total of 500+ students were covered in the pilot run. All students found the tool relevant. 90% of the students polled said usage was very easy and clarity has been rated at 85%.
