Gujarat Handloom & Handicraft Exhibition
 The Bangalore Branch of Gujarat Emporium's Gujarat Handloom & Handicraft Exhibition cum sale is on at Srinivasa Sagar Kalyana Mahal,# 264/267, T.Mariyappa Road,2nd Block, (near Ashoka Pillar), Jayanagar till 15th March .2009 (including Sunday).
According to TV Sudarsanan, Sr Manager, Bandhini, a Gujarati fabric is reminiscent of youth and romance and true love and has a faithful following in town.
Salwar Kameez from Gujarat with vegetable dyes, batik, appliqué and mirror work, trendy batik Kurtis in the dark shades, embellished with glass work, eye - catching block printed cotton sarees are on display in the Exhibition.
 Fascinating articles made out of mirror like cushion work, Bags, letter stand with elephant and floral motifs, decorative puppets made out of cloth and velvet, Toran (mirror and thread work), wall pieces (glass work and mirror work), file Holders, door cutters and dish mats catch everyone's eye.
The traditional Ajraku and Chuni (block prints) are from Kutch. Garments like Salwar suits, Jackets, skirts, sarees, bedcovers, cushion cover are some of the items made with block prints, including appliqué work done by Kutch caftsmen. Other embroidery works on wall Hanging, Cushion Cover, etc., Super fine (Tie & Dye) on fabrics like cotton and Silk Sarees, Dupattas, dress materials are done in Jamnagar and Bhuj Mandi of Kutch district and bead work Toran, Wall Hanging from Sourastra.
