Rotary Club's Campaign to reduce Carbon Footprint

Rotary club of Jayanagar and other 82 Rotary clubs of RI Dist 3190 are collaborating with Project Agastya, Eco- watch and other NGOs to reduce carbon foot prints. The campaign will be launched on World Water Day, 23rd March with series of programmmes including launch of an interactive portal www.lowcarbonaction.kreeo.com. and www.lowcarbonaction.in.
This portal will help people to express their views for sustainable development. Rotary Bangalore Jayanagar has been on forefront to combat this issue.
This portal would provide platform to share resources and knowledge for overall improvement. Citizens, corporates, young, old, students and workers, Govt authorities and institution would participate in it we have established effective dialogue with all of them.
 Recognising that climate change is becoming the defining issue of the era, UNEP is asking countries, companies and communities to focus on reducing Carbon Emissions. This movement seeks to highlight resources and initiatives that promote low carbon economies and life-styles, such as improved energy efficiency, alternative energy sources, forest conservation and eco-friendly consumption.
The objective is to give a human face to Carbon Reduction issues; empower people to become active agents of sustainable and equitable development; promote an understanding that communities are pivotal sustainable development; and promote partnerships to ensure that all stakeholders and people enjoy a safer and more prosperous future.
