Sir,
The Federation of Jayanagar Residents Grievances Association has been following up many grievances of the residents with the authorities who have turned a deaf ear till date:
* SHIFTING OF OFF-COURSE HORSE BETTING FROM 10TH MAIN ROAD, 4TH BLOCK JAYANAGAR
The Commissioner of Police, Bangalore City Police in his remarks on the eve of interaction meeting with the residents of Jayanagar on 13.1.2009 assured to shift the Off-course Horse betting from 10th Main Road, 4th Block, Jayanagar.
On 16.1.2009 we wrote a letter to the Chairman, BTC, Bangalore to shift the Off-course Horse betting from 10th Main Road, 4th Block, Jayanagar and he also assured to shift the premises with a short period.
• Nuisance of rowdy elements near Barista, 9th Main Road, 4th Block, Jayanagar. Informed to the police commissioner on Jan 13, but no action forthcoming till date.
• NAMING THE 128 WARD AS PATTABHIRAMANAGAR AND 127 WARD AS JAYANAGAR
In 1970 from 11th Main to 18th Main Road, 35th Cross A has been named as Pattabhiramanagar. All the Name boards have been erected in all the areas. Now the same has been changed to 58th ward, Jayanagar.
The representation has been submitted to the Mayor and Commissioner of Bangalore City Corporation as well as the then MLA of Jayanagar Sri.Ramalinga Reddy by the Pattabhiramanagar Welfare Association, Traders Association, Federation of Residents Association, Jayanagar 4th T Block Residents Welfare Association to change the name of 128 WARD AS PATTABHIRAMANAGAR AND 127 WARD AS JAYANAGAR.
In this regard, a resolution has been made in the Council of Bangalore City Corporation to change the name as stated above.
* B.M.T.C. (BANGALORE METRO TRANSPORT CORPORATION)
1. Request ordinary bus fare bus from Jayanagar 4th Block to Devanahall Airport
2. There are no buses plying from Jayanagar 4th Block to Majestic, Shivajinagar, Rajajingar, Yeshwanthapur, Hebbal, Yelahanka and other places. All the Buses are plying from JP nagar, Banashankari, 9th Block, Jayanagar, BTM Layout and other areas passing through Jayanagar 4th Block. BMTC authorities are requested to deploy immediately 5 Buses to each route.
3. The BMTC has introduced MBS 1 and 287M, 402 M to Hebbal and Yelahanka respectively. The above routes have been made on the request of the Residents Association, but the above buses are plying from Konanakunte, JP Nagar without touching to Jayanagar 4th Block.
The above buses may be routed via Yediyur to Jayanagar 4th Block.
4. Bus Shelters to be put up in all the bus stops in Jayanagar locality.
5. Bus Shelter at the 11th Main Road, opposite to Boot Bazar, 3rd Block, East, Jayanagar
BHRUHATH BANGALORE MAHANAGARA PALIKE
1. To clear footpath hawkers in 38th Cross, 4th T Block, Jayanagar.
2. The playground between 17th and 18th Main and between 38th and 39th Cross, 4th T Block, Jayanagar has not been maintained properly by the Corporation. The playground is being used by the rowdy elements and for committing nuisance. Immediate action has to be taken to remove the gallery put up in centre of the ground and make way for children to play in the field.
3. BAVI PARK, 34TH CROSS, 9TH MAIN ROAD, 4TH BLOCK, JAYANAGAR
The Bavi park was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri.S.M. Krishna. No replacement has been made for the lighting provided earlier. .
4. REMOVING OF MUD AND SAND FROM THE DRAINAGES

PROBLEMS NOT SOLVED IN JAYANAGAR
1. Removal of Push Carts of Non Veg items, etc that are sold on the footpath of 18th Main Road, 4th T Block.
2. Road cuttings to be filled properly in all the areas immediately.
3. All the Corporation parks have to be improved immediately and minimum lightings to be put in the parks for the residents to walk in the parks.
4. All vehicular traffic coming from East to West on the inner ring road has been diverted to the 28th Main Road, a narrow road having a width of only 22 feet unlike East End Road and 26th Main Road which are four lane roads having the dividing meridian at the centre both in Jayanagar 9th Block and 4th T Block areas.
5. To provide additional lights around Vishranthivana park as the present lighting is most inadequate.
6. To provide Nirmala Sulaba Souchalaya behind Ward Office on 28th Main Road and also at the corner of 26th main and 32 E Cross (ie., North East corner of Jayanagar General Hospital.
7. Provision of cobble stones on both side of the foot path on 28th Main and 36th Cross, as there is heavy vehicular traffic including BMTC buses and foot paths has become unfit for use by the pedestrians.
8. Use of residential premises No.1178 and 1179, 28th main Road, 4th T Block, Jayanagar for running a school by M/s.Sudharshan Vidya Mandir, Jayanager, permission to the school to be examined before issuing the license for renewal.
