Arun Kumar tells computer users

Enjoy, and not “end joy” while working on PC

Speed typing Limca Book Record holder and founder of Computer Risk Awareness and Prevention Society, HM Arun Kumar (resident of 4th Block, Jayanagar) has been invited to Cornell University by Alan Hedge, the Professor in Ergonomics. “I will be sharing my 12 years of experience on how to work safely on PC. I want to show the world how it is possible to enjoy and not end joy while working on the PC.”, said Arun Kumar.
Arun Kumar also offered to help the Karnataka Government by helping them implement the safety guidelines and train students in the art of touch typing in 49000 schools of Karnataka, where not only children will be benefited but the general public. He also offered to give free seminars and lectures on the safety guidelines at schools, colleges, TV, radio, free of cost.
while working on PCRecently, Arun Kumar observed the 10th International RSI Awareness Day, on 28th Feb. 2009 which is also observed all over the world.
The main objective of this Awareness programme, he explained, is to make computer users be more aware about their health hazards in the long run when they use or work on the PC/laptops in wrong posture. “One shouldn’t try to ignore any simple pain while working on PC. We have seen major damages happening to them after ignoring that simple pain,” cautioned Arun Kumar.
Almost everyone is forced to learn computers including children, so more are at RISK, as they are not taught the scientific way of using on them. “We say my son is doing Engineering in Computer Science, but there is no science, they only know computers. If one knows the science or scientific ways of using it, one will start enjoying the time spent on PC,” he said.
As a Limca Book Record holder in typing at a speed of 600 characters per minute in free-hand mode, and record holder for typing at a speed of 300 characters per minute in cross-hand mode, and record holder for training the art of touch typing just in 4 hours for the normal, blind and deaf, Arun Kumar has also developed safe typing techniques.
“I have been working on computers from past 15 years. After experiencing the discomfort and pain with myself and my students, I kept on altering the furniture and ways of working on PC and finally arrived to this point wherein I and my students are working without any sort of pain or injury,” Arun Kumar said, explaining how he developed an interest in this lilttle known field.

So is long hours spent before the PC injurious to health? No, he says emphatically, the wrong style of working on the PC is what is harmful to health.
The worst part of advance RSI condition is they are completely unable to do any simple task of their own, like eating food, wearing shirt, putting button, lifting their kids and so on.
Parents should be very much careful about their children when they are using PC. An article in a London publication mentioned, “Millions of children have damaged their necks and nerve damage because of wrong posture.”

Parents can bring their children and check their posture corrected FREE of cost.
