BNV promises funds for Samarthanam Trust

The Samarthanam Charitable Trust for the Visually Impaired will get the funds it needs for constructing its own building in HSR Layout, the land for which has already been allotted by the Kumaraswamy government. Presiding over a prize giving ceremony, BN Vijaykumar, Jayanagar MLA said the visually impaired people by their feats had proved that they were no less than people with no disabilities. This was because organizations like Samarthanam had instilled in these young people a belief that their disability need not be a hindrance to their dreams, he said, lauding the Trust's Mahantesh, himself a visually impaired. Mahantesh, a post-graduate and computer literate, is a visiting professor at the Bangalore University. 
Mrs. Vandana LuthraVijaykumar gave away prizes and trophies to Samarthanam's cricket team who won the national cricket championship held in New Delhi where eight teams from other States took part. Shekar Naik, the favorite, was voted the man of the match.
Mahantesh also expressed the hope that his boys would do an encore in the forthcoming national chess championship for the blind that will be held at the Kanteerava Indoor Stadium.

Vijaykumar also offered his full support to the trust's waste management system wherein its members collect old newspapers from homes and send it for recycling. Former corporator Somashekar, Ravi Kumar, secretary, Suresh, vice president, BJP Yuva Morcha also promised to make it a success.
