CM to preside over Mahashivarathri celebrations

Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa will take time out on Monday, Feb 23, to take part in Mahashivarathri celebrations in Jayanagar at a cultural programme organised by Sharana Sangama, at BCC Ground, 9th Main Road, 4th Block, Jayanagar.  BJP national general secretary and Bangalore South MP Ananth Kumar will also preside over the ceremony.
Interestingly, the BJP's Big 2 will be rubbing shoulders on stage with a galaxy of senior Congress leaders viz. DK Shivakumar, organizing president, former CM, MP Prakash and senior leader Ramalinga Reddy. Jayanagar MLA BN Vijaykumar and former corporator N Nagaraju of Congress will also grace the event. The organizers will be donating books and clothes to poor students on the occasion, and also honouring well known humorist YMN Murthy, the president of Bangalore Humour Club International and Dr Prabhudeva, Vice Chancellor, Bangalore University. A variety of cultural events are planned for the festival such as dolu kunitha, Veeraghase, Nandi Dwaja, presented by Mahadevaiah and touple, Nrithyasambaram by Manjula Paramesh and troupe, devotional songs rendered by Vidya Namratha and Kavana Aradhya and troupe, fusion music and Laya Lahari,  humour skits by Sri Yashwanth Deshpande and group, Narasimha Joshi, Pranesh Gangavathi, Ravi Bajanthri, Basavaraj Mahamani  and Indumanthi Salimat, Sangeeth Karanji by Cultural     Academy, and old film songs from Bali.
