Priyadarshini Award for Chandrashekar Raju

In politics, what goes round comes round. In the previous assembly elections, among the serious contenders for the Jayanagar Congress ticket was Chandrashekar Raju, but while he lost the ticket, the Congress party, according to his supporters, lost the plot, as he was a winning horse.
Now, he is getting ready to contest in the corporation elections. "This time, there won't be any miss between the cup and the lip, as there are very few winnable candidates in Congress," says one of his supporters.
Chandrashekar Raju was recently awarded the Priyadarshini Award for his service to society. A close confidante of senior Congressman Ramalinga Reddy, Chandrashekar Raju has served the party in various capacities for the past 25 years, starting his innings as secretary of the city youth congress, and elevated as vice president, and state general secretary, and now he is the state vice president of INTUC, (International Trade Union Congress), general secretary, Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress. He was former general secretary, Karnataka Raju Kshatriya Sangha, and is likely to be elected as President, Member of Bangalore Nagarika Hitha Rakshna Samithi. As president of the popular Annapoorneshwari Seva Samithi located in 5th Block, Jayanagar, he has been a great patron of the temple, and also donated generously for construction of a community hall, conducted free mass marriages, got admission in colleges to deserving students, apart from being a successful businessman.
