Retain Thayagarajnagar Police station: NR Ramesh

NR Ramesh

You have heard of an industrial unit shutting down because of lack of orders, but here's a shocker: The Thayagarajnagar Police Station is likely to be closed down by the department due to "less complaints" according to the police, and the jurisdictional workload will be distributed between the Banashankari police station and the Basavanagudi police station.
Whatever the veracity in the official claim, the Thyagarajanagar locality has a notorious history behind it. It was known as the popular adda for notorious rowdies and history-sheeters in the past such as Ankoor Raj, MC Prakash, Lodde, Mental Ramakrishna, Mahesha, Sankara Gowda, etc. While some are alive, the followers of the dead guys are still active as drug peddlers, and involved in many thefts and attempt to murder cases. Also, the locality has a population of around 40,000 and so it is difficult to digest the view that it does not need an exclusive police station.

According to the NR Ramesh, BJP Yuva Morcha State Vice President, the reasons for less number of cases registered at the police station are not because the crime rate has gone down. Now, when there are no police in the immediate vicinity, crimes like drug peddling will definitely go up. He has therefore appealed to the Chief Minister, Home Minister, DGP, and the area MLA and In charge Minster R.Ashok, to drop the idea and continue the Thyagarajanagar police station. The young BJP leader has been actively conducting de-addiction programs for the alcoholics and youngsters and feels his efforts will go to waste if the police department goes ahead with its proposal. Those who wish to join his campaign for retaining the Thyagarajanagar police station can contact him on 98001999.
