'Karnataka Dhwani' State level Singing Contest
Ever since the release of the first Kannada Talkie 'Sathi Sulochana' in March 1934, the Kannada industry is inching towards a glorious platinum jubilee.
To mark 75 years of its existence, Ramya Cultural Academy, Bangalore, a registered charitable trust has organized a State level Kannada Film-hits Singing Contest (Preliminary Round) on 24th January, 2009 at Suchitra Film Society, 9th Main, BSK II Stage, from 10.30 am onwards. The 'Karnataka Dhwani' Singing Contest will have Solos & Duets, divided into different parts and will have number of rounds before the finals. Winners and Finalists will be suitably rewarded and have an opportunity to perform during a Musical Nite to be organized by the academy to commemorate 75 years of Kannada Cinema.
Though there is no age limit, separate entry fee is fixed for each event in the contest. Aspirants are required to send in details of Name, Age & Date of Birth, Postal Address, Telephone No., Qualification, Current Occupation, Experience and Two Passport Photographs, a self-addressed envelope along with a Registration Fee of Rs.100/- in Cash or DD in the name of the academy at # 302, Akshaya Kuteera, MM Industries Road, 7th Block west, Jayanagar, BANGALORE - 560 082 on or before 17th January 2009.
