BJP organises Loan Mela for Minorities

It's a small beginning, but has gained much appreciation among the people. On Dec 29, the Minority Morcha of the BJP organised a "loan mela" for minorities at Padarayanapura Ward coming under Chamarajpet assembly constituency.
More than 77 people, including Christians and Muslims, were handed over cheques from KMDC for Rs 7,500/- each representing soft loans, at the meeting presided over by Derrick Fulinfaw, President, BJP State Minority Morcha. The loans carry a subsidy of Rs 2,500/- and the beneficiaries were required to pay the balance amount in easy monthly installments of Rs 200/-.
These loans would enable the urban poor to set up petty shops, tailoring shop and so on, said Mehboob Khan, city president, and said another such loan mela for the minority community would be held in January-end where 135 people would be given such soft loans. He thanked the CM Sri Yeddyurappa for his initiative and said he had assured the Morcha leaders that more funds would be released to the women and poor persons belonging to the minority community.
State general secretary Kennady Shanthakumar and Shamsundar Gaikwad presided over the event.
