Peace rally organized by Karnataka Yuvajana Sangha

28th Mn Junction is now Dr Raj Circle

Sunday, Dec 21, thousands of people took part in a peace rally in Jayanagar to pay their homage to the martyrs ad victims of the Mumbai terror attacks. Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy led the processionists which began from Pump House East End Road via 9th Block, Jayanagar. The rally was organised by the Karnataka Yuvajana Sangha as part of Rajyotsava celebrations. Students from Nalanda School, JP Nagar and special children from Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, carried placards of the four soldiers who laid down their lives. president of KYS BV Ramesh gave an inspirational speech to the young students urging them to imbibe a love for the country from an early age. The procession culminated on 29th Main, where people joined in a flag hoisting ceremony and Rajyotsava celebrations. The traffic circle at the 28th Main junction on BTM Ring Road was named after Dr Rajkumar as 'Dr Raj Circle'.
Former corporators CK Ramamurthy, B Somashekar, Congressmen Dhananjay Reddy and P Prabhuraj, and Samarthanam managing trustee GK Mahantesh and This Week Bangalore Publisher Kishore Joseph, were present. The program concluded with a well appreciated performance of Yakshagana on Sridevi Mahatme by Karunakara Shetty and Group under the guidance of VR Hegde. TV 9 journalist Raghavendra was honoured on the occasion.
Other members of the Sangha viz. K. Govind, Vice President, Narasimha Murthy, Honorary President, LR. Aravind, General Secretary, and KN. Nagaraj, Treasurer was  also present.
