Cheers to the Power of 10

Koramangala Club has seen many a glittering evening, but this one was special, if only because it was a celebration of its own citizens, a celebration of success against all odds, a success the promoters could very legitimately call their very own, right from concept to completion, and the high-profile presence of celebs, quite appropriately from the IT field.
Ten years of Koramangala.com took lot of effort, but it never seemed like work, said the star couple of the evening, Balbir Singh and wife Amrit Seth. The chief guest, Mr Ashok Soota, C&MD, MindTree Ltd, recalled his prophetic words at the time of the website's first anniversary that he would be there during its tenth anniversary, and Balbir Singh quipped, "Shall I then bookmark you as the chief guest for the website's 20th anniversary?"
If the Singhs were in high spirits, they had earned it. After all, how many websites that do not boast of any venture capital funding have lasted a decade?
The celeb crowds were literally all over the place - Mr Davis, Geeta Vishwanath, Founder-Director of Rage Communications who designed and maintain Koramangala.com (she had specially flown down from Delhi to attend the event), Mr. & Mrs. Srini Rajam, Chairman of ITTIAM Systems, Sanjay Prabhu, Director and COO of Radio Indigo, Anoop Shetty, President of Koramangala Club, Samina Mahmood, founder of Headstart Montessori, Sushil Mehra, Director of Pan Office Systems, Chandrakumar - popularly known as CK, and Priyatham Rajagopalan, Director and COO, Hotcourses Chennai, where Balbir and Amrit are Directors, to mention a few. Nigel Watts-Morgan, MD, Hotcourses Solutions, London, who was to have been one of the Guest Speakers, had to change his plans at the nth minute, and emailed his warm message which was read out by Balbir Singh.
The audience first observed a minute's silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the Mumbai terrorist attack.

Then followed a presentation "Down Memory Lane - a Story of Persistence" by Balbir Singh which was avidly followed by the audience. The chief guest, Mr Soota pointedly recalled that Koramangala.com was the first to feature his company when it was launched way back in August 1999, counting it as one among the many firsts the website had notched up to its credit. Over the last ten years, Koramangala.com has succeeded in even winning the acclaim of the international media.
Cheers to the Power of 10.
