Railway over bridge work, traffic restrictions

The railway over bridge work on Marathahalli main road is going on in full swing .The approach roads on one side have been completed and slab casting is to be completed in two weeks. Work on the other side of the bridge is being taken up now. To facilitate free flow of traffic heavy vehicles including BMTC has been stopped from plying from kundhanahalli gate towards Marathahalli. However cars and motorcycles have been allowed to use this road. Traffic flowing towards Whitefield and Varthur will be allowed to use the road. As an alternative, heavy vehicles including BMTC will have to use the Mahadhevapura road and take the ring road to reach Marathahalli. The six lane over bridge when completed would ease traffic drastically and allow smooth flow of traffic from nearby residential areas Monakullalah and Chinapanahalli, but the high rise apartments that would become homes to thousands would pose big questions in the future of this six lane bridge road management.
