The Richmond Fellowship Asia Pacific Forum Conference 2008

The Richmond Fellowship Asia Pacific Forum Conference (RFASPAC) will take place from 2Oth to 22nd November 2008. Organised by the Richmond Fellowship Society of India and co-sponsored by the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), the event will place at the NIMHANS Convention Centre in Bangalore, India.
This conference will be open to Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychiatric Social Workers, Rehabilitation professionals and those working with NGOs and taking care of people with Mental Health problems. In addition caregivers, family members and consumers will also be participating in large numbers.
The event, which will welcome speakers, delegates and professionals from across the globe, will serve as a forum for the exchange of ideas on Psychosocial Rehabilitation Across Cultures.

More than 300 delegates including 50 International delegates are expected to attend and discuss issues relating to social, legal and ethical dilemmas around rehabilitation, as well as the challenges faced by rehabilitation professionals in today's globalised world.
The Richmond Fellowship is one of the founder members of RFASPAC, which comprises countries across the Asia Pacific region, from Australia and Macau to Hong Kong, Pakistan and Nepal. Founded in Richmond, UK in 1959, the Richmond Fellowship is the world's largest mental health network.
The   Richmond   Fellowship   Society   (India)   is   a Registered Voluntary and 'Not-for-Profit' organization providing care and psychosocial rehabilitation for persons with mental health needs in India. Born in 1986, the RFS India has branches in Bangalore, Delhi, Lucknow and Sidlaghatta, all characterised by its groundbreaking, culturally distinct approach to rehabilitation. Professional training at its Bangalore-based college evidences its expertise in the field of Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
The Asia Pacific Conference has been held biennially in the Asia Pacific region since 1993. In the past, the conferences have been held in Brisbane (1993), Bangalore (1995), Sydney (1997), Queenstown (1999), Canberra (2001), Hong Kong (2004) and Melbourne (2006). The conference is the most prestigious event in the field of Psychosocial Rehabilitation.
We have drawn a Scientific Programme comprising plenary talks, concurrent workshops and oral & interactive poster presentations. Distinguished National and International speakers are taking part in this event.
