PM Inaugurates Annual Convention on RTI

The Third Annual Convention on Right to Information was inaugurated by Prime Minister, Dr.ManMohan Singh. The function was organized by the Central Information Commision. The theme of the present convention is "RTI and its ramification for good governance". In his opening remarks , Prime Minister said the operationalisation of RTI shows a gradual and steady process of building  a more accountable, transparent and citizen friendly governance. In his welcome address, Shri.Wajahat Habibullah, Chief  Information Commissioner said that RTI Act has introduced transperance in the functioning of bureaucracy.The convention was attended by representative of civil society and media within the country and from SAARC countries.
