The JP Nagar residents welfare association has appealed to the residents to take personal interest in keeping the area clean and be a model for other areas to follow. Even though a warning sign is painted on the wall right opposite to 2nd Cross C.R. layout, some of the households continue to dump garbage on the footpath, said a resident and urged the people to co-operate with the association in making the area a litter-free zone.

Some of the other issues taken up and proposed by the JP Nagar residents welfare association are given below:
*Modernisation of Banashankari Bus Stand (foundation stone laid recently by CM).

* Fruits and Vegetable Market

The proposal to construct a modern fruits and vegetable market at its existing location on the 9th Cross and Kanakapura Road junction is under active consideration of the authorities.

* Extension of Metro Rail

The terminal Metro Rail station (R V Road) proposed earlier at 40th cross, Jayanagar, will now be shifted to Jaraganahalli on Kanakapra Road, However, there will be a station at the 40th Cross (R V Road) as earlier planned. It is learnt that the extended alignment of the railway line will pass through 46th Cross, Sangam Circle, Banashankari Bus stand and then proceed to the Jaraganahalli terminal.

* Funds for maintenance of Library and Reading Room
The building for the Library and Reading Room is expected to be ready in about six months. The Association will then have to incur expenses for its upkeep and maintenance which may come to about Rs.5000 per month. The public are requested to help the association in fund raising.

* Bihar relief fund

The association has appealed to the residents to contribute generously for the relief of the Bihar flood victims.
