Will Sanglina factor make ' fell-good BJP' feel better?

BJP leader Ananth Kumar’s meeting with former Police Commissioner H.T. Sangliana in the past have been normally tepid affairs, but on Wednesday, Jan 21, they hit it off so well, that Sangliana quickly made up his mind to join the saffron bridge. Barely few days later, the party I scenting blood, and there’s and imperceptible sense of fear in the Congress ranks.
Will the Sangliana factor create a BJP wave in the state? Will the fake stamp paper scam, first exposed by Sngliana as Police Commissioner, prove to be as fatal as Bofors was for the ruling Congress?

Never known to pull his paunches, BJP national president, Venkaiah Naidu, with a smiling Sanglaina beside him, declared that there was a swing already in favour of the BJP in the state.
After 36 years of public service, Sangliana continues to be revered as a supercop in Karnataka, and is a big draw among the people, cutting across all barriers of religion and community. Arriving in Bangalore form Delhi at noon on Saturday, to a raucous welcome at the airport by atate unit leaders, workers and admirers, Sangliana talked to TW’s Publisher Kihsore Joseph about his new role in the BJP.
KJ: Reports appearing after your retirement from public service suggested you were being wooed by many parties like the Congress, and Vijay Mallya’s Janata Party. What made you choose the BJP?
HTS: It is true I received several feelers form many parties, including form may native Mizoram, but I chose the BJP because it is a positive, progressive and promising party. After my personal interaction with Ananth Kumar and other senior leaders of the party, I am convinced that it is a party of the people, by the people and for the people. Unlike other parties, it is very open minded on issues, and they have a lot of good ideas for the nation.
KJ: But many believe it is communal in its thinking and not favorably inclined towards the minorities..
HTS: It is perception which I ………………………………
