Hyderabad- Hyderabad’s Tibarumals Jewellers has created history and made its mark nationally by winning the prestigious award in “Best Diamond Jewellery of the Year – Contemporary” category at the National Jewellery Awards by the All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF). To mark the occasion and celebrate the same, Tibarumals Jewellers organised an evening with an eclectic mix of timeless jewellery and exquisite fashion with top models showcasing jewellery from Tibarumals Jewellers. Dr. (Mrs.) J. Geeta Reddy, Minister for Major Industries, Sugar, Commerce and Export Promotion, Government of Andhra Pradesh graced the occasion.
Addressing the gathering late evening yesterday Minister for Major Industries Dr. J. Geeta Reddy said that Jewellery and women are like inseparable friends. Just like finding a good doctor is important, find good jewellery is also important. Tibarumals Jewellers getting the award at the national level and being the finalists in three other categories is a very proud moment and we all share the pride. Tibarumals Jewellers, Basheerbagh have been our family jewelers for the last 12 years, she added. She wished that Tibarumals Jewellers win more awards and make our state proud. She informed the gathering that there are a lot of huge investments coming into the state. In the partnership summit held recently about 6.5 lakh crores of investments came in. Also according to the Association Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), AP stands third in the country for investments, Minister Geeta Reddy informed.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sanjay Gupta of Tibarumals Jewellers, Basheerbagh said that it was a moment of great joy and pride when I received the ‘Best Diamond Jewellery of the Year – Contemporary 2012’ award. Apart from winning in one category, we were the finalists in three others categories viz. Diamond Jewellery of the year – Bridal; Gold Jewellery of the Year – Bridal; and Jadav Jewellery of the Year. Winning the prestigious award and being the finalist in three other categories is a testament to the originality, creativity and quality of work done by Tibarumals Jewellers. The awards were presented last month at Mumbai.
To be recognized by All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF), a national trade body consisting of manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers and exporters from all over India gives me immense joy. And we wanted to share the joy with our customers and well-wishers with this celebration, said Mr. Gupta.
The selection criterion for the awards was very elaborate with three phases. The awards core committee looked into the originality of the design and its articulation attributes. The entry made it into the final phase of Jury selection only if it scored more than 60%. In the third phase the Jury reviewed the design once again from various aspects such as: Finishing, innovation, wearability, design, originality and customer profile.
Models such as Miss World 2009 1st Runner up Parvathy Omanakuttan, Miss India 2008 and Actor Simran Kaur Mundi, Miss India Neha Hinge, Super Model Aanchal Kumar, Super Model Shamita Singha and other top models took part in the show choreographed by Ms. Achala Sachdev. The 45 minutes fashion parade showcased jewellery from the Tibarumals Jewellers. International saxophonist Ms. Lopez from Columbia and singer Shibani Kashyap also performed during the evening and enthralled the gathering.

This year GJF’s National Jewellery Awards acknowledged Gems of the Jewellery industry and recognized them with the most prestigious jewellery award. The National Jewellery Award was supported by International Gemological Institute (IGI) as the presenting partner. The awards recognized those who have exhibited exceptional talent and leadership across 31 categories.
