
Mr.Rajendran R, CEO & Founder of Green Chem received the FKCCI Export Excellence Award 2012 under the Best Exporter Award in Special Category (Gold) from Mr.Murugesh R. Nirani, Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries, Governor of Karnataka, at Hotel Lalit Ashok, on Friday. Dr. Anup K. Pujari, Director General of Foreign Trade, GoKMr.K.Shivshanmugam, President elect, FKCCI,Mr.JR bangera, Prsident, FKCCI,Mr. Krishna R, Director Marketing and Mrs.Kamala Rajendran, Director Technical, Green Chem were present on the occasion.
BANGALORE: Bangalore-based Company ‘Green Chem’, which primarily deals in herbal ingredients and formulations, has received the FKCCI Export Excellence Award 2012 under the Best Exporter Award in Special Category (Gold).
Mr. Rajendran R., Proprietor of Green Chem, received the award at a function organized by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) at Hotel Lalit Ashok, on Friday.
Green Chem, as the name suggests, deals mainly with natural / herbal/biotech products. It has huge organic farms for cultivation of herbs, excellent manufacturing facilities in Bangalore and elaborate laboratories for research and quality control. Green Chem has a total capacity of extracting about 1500 tons of herbs per year. The manufacturing is done as per Validated Standard Operating Procedures as per USFDA & TGA guideline.
Certified with ISO 22000:2005 for high level Food Safety (The highest quality certification of Products for human consumption), Green Chem has filed for 38 patents on various herbal products, of which 18 have already been granted.
As a 100% exported unit Green Chem is carrying out clinical studies & toxicity testing on most of the newer products for establishing the efficacy, which is being done at St. John’s Medical College, Bangalore. The company has been selected by the AYUSH Dept. of Govt. of India for developing Specifications (Monographs) for Herbal extracts. This is a significance milestone for Green Chem.
The Awards, under various categories, were selected by the FKCCI Selection Committee chaired by the Regional Joint Director General of Foreign Trade. FKCCI bestows these Awards on an annual basis to Exporters from Karnataka for their outstanding Export.

The Awards function was inaugurated by Murugesh R. Nirani, Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries, GoK, Dr. Anup K. Pujari, Director General of Foreign Trade, GoK and S. Raman, CMD, Canara Bank were present.
